Job description
The Junior Data Engineer role at Medpace is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates and early-career professionals who are passionate about Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Cloud Technologies.
As a Junior Data Engineer, you will work within the Information Technology team to design, develop, maintain, and support data solutions that help drive business decisions. You will participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and support.
This role provides exposure to modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, dbt, SQL Server, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based data engineering practices.
Key responsibilities
Develop and support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes.
Work with data warehousing technologies and databases.
Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines.
Support data integration using tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems.
Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business users.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
Gather, analyze, and document user requirements.
Participate in application design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Execute and review test cases during software validation activities.
Provide end-user support, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
Communicate project updates and technical information effectively.
Follow software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.Required skills

Bachelor's Degree in: Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Related Technical Fields.
Freshers with internship experience can apply.
Internship experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Software
Development is preferred.
Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
Understanding of ETL and data warehousing.
Exposure to Power BI or reporting tools.
Basic Python programming knowledge.
